Is colon cancer rare in children?

My four year old has a lot of bowel symptoms which I'm told is constipation but it's been going on so long I've worked myself up into a state.
My logical head says it's rare and don't be ridiculous but I'm not wearing that head at moment.
Feel embarrassed to be writing this but hey ho
Her symptoms:
Big, small, long, thin poos
4-5 trips to the toilet a day
3 episodes of blood over 18 months
2 nights where she pooed in her sleep in a month

Apart from all this she is well and thriving, but I do admit I am a cancer phobe and this isn't helping.

Any advice or face slapping welcome!

Please put your logical head back on, Op, and listen to yourself.
You would not have a 4 year old who was well and thriving if there was a malignancy going on over such a long time.
This is a worry for you and a tedious situation for both you and your Dd.
Have you been referred to the Child Continence Service for advice and assistance to resolve this? If not, then that would be the next step. Your GP or HV should be able to do this, or in some areas you can self refer.
Have you searched for other threads on childhood constipation and bowel issues. I imagine you already have, bit, if not, there has been some good advice and support in the past, usually on the child health, parenting and SN threads.
Hope you can get this sorted out and both be happier in the future.

Colon cancer in children is very, very, very rare. Constipation in children, which can cause all the symptoms you describe, is very, very, very, common.

Hope you and your DD get it sorted out soon though, it doesn't sound like fun for either of you

I have never heard of colon cancer in a child
