DS (&) complaining of groin pain

Last night when we came home from work, ds was complaining about having a pain in his groin on the right hand side. He had been playing football at school so we thought he might have injured it then but he said it was sore before he went to school. The pain seemed to be worse this morning and he was limping quite a bit. Any ideas what this could be?

Age ? if pubertal (or younger and overweight) google slipped upper femoral epiphysis and get him checked.

On the whole footballers do get " groin strains" but this is the thing not to miss.

I read about that on google but he is only 7 and would probably be a bit underweight if anything.

Perthes disease at 7 ( sorry didn't find the age in the OP) or an " irritable hip".

If he's not usually a moaner and is limping I'd get him checked

Thanks - will take him to GP tomorrow if he is no better this evening.
