I wondered if anyone has any experience of this please. My 9 yr old dd was complaining of being sore down below and was very red. She also had brownish discharge. I took her to the docs...he didn't examine her but asked me to do a swab at home and take in a urine sample. Until the results came back he prescribed Amoxycillin and some cream. That was last Thursday. It is now Monday and dd is much improved (a couple of spoons of medicine left to take). I rang doctors today to ask result of tests. Receptionist said swab not back but urine showed Strep infection and that doctor had noted 'Correct antibiotic already given'. I asked other questions which receptionist wasn't able to answer and gave up. A couple of hours later a different receptionist rang me (unaware that I had already called for result) and said the doctor had requested dd do another urine sample once the course of antibiotics has been finished. I can't find much about vaginal strep cases other than in pregnant women and newborns so am slightly confused. My ds did have a really nasty throat infection a few days before she got this and he also had a rash all over which I presumed was just a viral rash. Could the two possibly be related?
