DS (2) can't put weight on leg after fall, A&E or wait and see?

DS 2 yrs had a fall yesterday pm, I didn't see exactly what happened but he fell over with his brother. He screamed and screamed at the time but calmed down pretty quickly. There's nothing visible, no swelling and he's not upset, slept a full night but he can't put any weight on his leg at all so he's just been sitting quietly all morning (not normal!)

Should I give a bit longer incase its a basic sprain or get him to A&E for xray?

Currently DS2 6yrs has a broken arm! But that happened at school and was very obvious.

I would see if the GP has an appointment today, and if not, A and E. Not being able to put any weight on it doesn't sound normal. And a 2 year old can't fake it!

A&E - if it was half an hour ago I'd say wait but as it was yesterday and given his age I think it would need checking.

Have you given him Calpol? DD fell down the stairs and sprained her ankle, A&E gave her Calpol and she walked normally. They said if it was more serious Calpol wouldn't work so that was how to tell.

Having said that, you're probably better off going now during the day than later this eve, hopefully it'll be quieter.

A&E I reckon as it's been a long time not to be able to use it.

Thanks all, so packed bags, prepared snacks, books, drinks for 3 DC incase it was an extra long wait, drove through London traffic and then....he WALKED (with a slight limp) into A&E!!! 3 DC piled back into car, through London traffic and home.

Obviously I'm glad he's fine but typical toddler timing!
