Could this be the start of chicken pox?

My little boy has been snotty for the last but not poorly. No temperature and had his usual appetite. It's not unusual for my son to pick up colds though.

Today when he woke up, I noticed quite a 'red' spot or blemish on his chin. Thought nothing of it and went on with normal day. An hour ago. I went to wipe his snotty face again.. And he had a small red spot under his bottom lip and by his eyebrow.

They aren't blistered but the first large spot seems to be getting a slight head on it.

My son usually has amazing skin.(unlike me who suffers severely from eczema)

So since he woke at 7ish he's had 3 spots. Could it be chicken pox?

Could well be. Have you checked anywhere else?

Or hand, foot and mouth?

Watching with interest. My three year old has a clear runny nose, mouth ulcers and is dribbling a lot. She had been in close contact with chicken pox a week ago.
