Ds 8.5 years old has had vomiting problems since birth really ... When he started solids, he kept vomiting if he choked on a lump of food... Anyway, he had a barium swallow at one and was clear from anything,.. Since the moment he started talking, he had this hoarse voice ... So I thought that was just the way he was... But at parents meeting the teacher did flag that he definitely would need to see dr as one child had the same voice and he did have something wrong... Academically no problem. Any advice? I am really worried....

Hi,my third child, a boy,had similar.

He is 8 and a half and only in the last year has the hoarseness gone away.

I never brought him to the doctor about it, I just assumed it was the way he was. Next time you are at the GP you could mention but I definitely would not be overly concerned. You may well find that like my guy , he will grow out of it.

My boy was a very loud child, often screaming in play, during sport etc so we assume this contributed to the hoarseness.

Please don't worry , only adults have growths on vocal cords that can be sinister.
