Any tips to get a 2yo with a sore lip to eat/drink?

Dd fell today and split her lip. Gp has said to let it heal on its own.

She hasn't eaten since breakfast and is hungry, but she's afraid to eat.

Tried plain foods, straw, offered chocolate, but nothing.

A straw to drink through, I didn't offer her straw to eat! Grin

Rocket Ice lolly? Might numb it a bit and get some liquid into her at the same time?

MildDrPepperAddiction · 16/02/2015 19:13

Thanks. That might be a start!

Ice cream or yoghurt.

Could try using a medicine syringe with more liquid stuff - yogurt, milk, custard.
Sticks of stuff - cucumber, carrot - perhaps she could poke them in her mouth on the other side.

Syringe is a good idea. I'll need to get DH to get one from the chemist.
