When my son had vomiting for 4 weeks I refused to leave the doctors until they referred me somewhere. I am normally a very calm and patient person but I knew something wasn't right and felt the GPs were just fobbing me off. In our case my DS ended up being diagnosed with coeliac disease.
My GPs were pretty useless but they ended up reluctantly sending us to A&E and we started to get somewhere.
Has your DS been weighed recently. One thing that made the doctors take notice was that my DS had dropped over a centile in weight in his red book. He hadn't been weighed for almost a year so we never knew how much he'd lost during the time he was sick, but the drop in centile was enough for them to be concerned.
The other thing I found useful was to always ask what do I do if his symptoms do not improve in a few days, and find out exactly who to contact. Or if tests are done when to expect to hear from them and who to get in touch with if I don't hear anything.
Good luck, I hope your DS gets better soon. Although in NHS appointment lists May is not that long it is forever when you have a poorly DC.

Thanks we've been told by an out of hrs Dr they think it's celiac disease I went gps today with him got a letter but couldn't do referral so I took him all the way to Birmingham children's hospital sat for 3 hrs in a and e to be told he needs a lot of tests but that they wouldn't do them as they aren't our local hospital even though our local hospital is useless they've given me a letter asking our local hospital to see him sooner as he's got acute on top of chronic diahreaha but I doubt very much they move his appointment forward it's crazy if an adult was like this they'd investigate it sooner in case it was sign of cancer wich is understandable but u think they'd see small children even sooner :(

Your GP should be able to order a blood test for coeliac screening. Where I live my GP can order blood tests for children, but you have to have them done at the local hospital, you phone up the hospital and they book an appointment within a week.
If A&E have recommended he gets seen sooner than May then get in
touch with your GP tomorrow and insist they help you.
You could also get in touch with coeliac UK (they have a website) and they may be able to advise you.
Good luck.
