Dd has lost adjacent 3 top molars within a very short space of time! braces related?

Dd2 is 10.5 and has a special type of braces - not traditional orthodontics. She has lost loads of teeth in quick succession over the past 2 -3 months. She has lost 3 molars In a row. Although you can see the new ones coming ( thank god) there's one hell of a gap. Is this normal? Can braces speed up loss of milk teeth? I don't remember dd1 being this gappy with molars. She has more gaps than teeth! But you can just see the new ones coming, as I said.

DS is 10 and at his last appointment the dentist said she could see all new ones coming down so to expect lots to fall out shortly. None yet but DS's friend lost a top and bottom within 10 days last month.
