Does anyone know what this spot is on my toddler's ear?

Does anyone know what this raised red spot on my toddler's ear might be? There seems to be a red rash tracking away from it up his ear. It wasn't very obvious this morning but much more so now. He has a slight temp and has been unusually grumpy and sleepy today, but still eating and drinking fine. He has had chicken pox, around a year ago, so I don't think it's that. Thanks!

Hi not sure what it is apart from start of skin infection. Would get it checked out though because of other symptoms and the tracking. Calpol or nurofen for pain and them symptoms. Hope he feels better soon.

Thanks very much for replying, it seems to have got much better today but will keep an eye and take him to doc tomorrow if it flares up again.
