hi
started 3 days ago I took her to my gp who told me she had a cold....Hmm Hmm took her home she temp then went over 41 and I rang him bk snd he advised us to take her into a&e which we did. We were there for 4 hours was finally seen by a Dr Who told us she had tonsillitis. and sent us home. since then she has been suffering with a sky high fever that's not coming down with calpol or nurofen. We've not slept for the 3 nights sitting up with her struggling I don't know what to do anymore. have tried all the usual to bring temp down too

go back to gp.
asap.

Call the gp, and tell them what you have told us, she/he may well call up the hospital, and send you straight to the pads ward, rather than through a&e.
She needs reassessment.

Yes, back to GP today.

Back to GP. Ask about kawasaki disease.. (though by definition has to have fever for 5 days but it's worth at least thinking/being aware of)

Are you giving both calopl and ibroprofen alternated?

Dd2 used to at that age get huge temperatures. If it got over about 38 deg it would go up to over 40, even over 41 and would stay there for about 3 days during which I would give full doses of calpol and ibroprofen, then it would drop and not go up again.

how is she now? what did the doctor say?
