She is only having a lip tie cut but will have GA for it, albeit briefly, so I am bricking it a bit tonight as this was all my idea and she is only 2.5 and is all tiny and funny and perfect and I'm terrified something will go wrong.

Please can I have a combination of a stern talking to and a there there? DH has v practically gone straight to sleep, but I can't and I need to be up in a few hours to take her in, gulp.

Good luck! She will be fine (you posted 6 or 7 hours ago so hope you got to sleep). Might be better to post in busy "chat" for middle of the night responses.

Hope all goes well, sure she'll be bouncing round at home again before you know it.

She is in theatre now, be out in a v short while. The hospital is fab & lovely staff: we've managed to get our coats stuck in a malfunctioning locker but tis a minor thing.

My ds had a ga at about 7 months very quick only for exploratory reasons. He wasn't any trouble being fasted I thought he would be a night mare! And when he came round from the anaesthetic he was clapping his hands and playing peek a boo with the nurses. He also took a shine to one of the male nurses and was being carried out of the operating theatre by him and was a bit reluctant to leave him lol.
He was in great form after and are a full lunch of hospital food and we were back home by 4pm.
Hope my story of a good ga experience puts your mind at rest a little.
It's not pleasant to go through but think of the benefits for your child and remember if you seem calm and collected it will be less stressful for your little one.

She's home, bit grumpy and snotty but otherwise fine. Attagirl.
