Sickness and diarrhoea, 3 separate episodes in 24 days

Does this sound normal?

In the last 24 days my daughter who is 28 months has had three separate incidents of sickness and/or diarrhoea. First time just diarrhoea which lasted 5 days, followed by 13 days of being well, then she woke up being sick followed by another sickness episode later that day, 24 hours later diarrhoea which lasted two days. Two days clear and she wakes up this morning being sick.

During this time me and her dad both had diarrhoea the first time but the last two times no one was/is ill except her. The baby hasn't been poorly although he was throwing up after every feed on Thursday, he was checked over by a dr who said it was a reaction to his first set of injections the day before and was not a sickness bug.

I'm taking her to the doctor on Monday to get her checked out but any ideas. Is she just unlucky and keeps picking sickness bugs up or could there be more to it?

A couple of thoughts - I thought her belly looked swollen yesterday on her 'well' day and the children she has socialised with over the last two days are all well, she hasn't been to nursery this week to pick up any random bugs. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks.

Have you given her any lactobacillus? Vomitting and diarrhoea can deplete their stomachs of these beneficial bacteria, making digestion harder for them.

I have just looked it up, how would I give it to her would a probiotic contain it?

From what I read on the internet, yes, Bonny.

I live abroad so I don't know the products available in the UK, sorry about that.

Hope she gets well soon.
