Baby with a fever that wont go down

My 18 month old has had a temperature for 2 days now. I have taken him to a doctor and was told that he has slight redness on his tonsils that is causing the fever. He also is coughing, vomiting mucus (twice in 48 hours) and started diarrhoea. I've stripped him to only his vest and is now asleep. I've checked his breathing and it it normal but is snoring because of the mucus. I tried putting a fan on to help his fever but it didn't work and made him shiver. As for medication he is currently have regular doses of antibiotics, paracetamol and ibuprofen. Does anyone have any advise please and is there anything to worry about?

What is his temperature?

If youre worried call out of hours. Is 111 universal? It won't be wasting anyone's time.

His temperature is around 38/39 degree Celsius and I have called 111 though they have just told me what I already know and said they cannot say any more as they cant do a full assessment over the phone

If you're worried I would take him to see the out of hours GP.

Hi, how is he now?
39 is not too much of a high temp, mine get 40 every time they are Ill, I know that's not too much of a reassurance.
Just keep on the paracetamol every 4 hrs, and ibuprofen every 6 hours, his antibiotics will kick in soon.
Cold flannels work, though they get a shiver
If you think his breathing is getting worse call nhs direct.
I hope he starts to get better soon.

He was alright for for an hour or so and his temperature was at 37 but now it has gone up to 38 again. Otherwise his eating and drinking is less than normal and when his temperature is higher he will refuse every food and drink. Im about to give him ibuprofen again and put him to sleep. Also, does sleeping help the fever to reduce?

Sleeping is good, it's a way for the body to recuperate, his temp seem under control, you do not need to worry unless it goes over 41 :-)
Just make sure he has fluids, it's horrible when your baby is ill for the first time x
