Has anyone given chloramphenicol to their baby

DD (10 months) got conjunctivitis. Has anyone ever given chloramphenicol to their baby and was it effective? Thanks.

I got it for DS from the GP. Did the trick.

Pharmacist wouldn't sell it to me without a prescription for him and I didn't fancy lying about who it was for in order to avoid waiting to get it (they sell it over the counter for over 2yos)

If you have some handy from a previous bout of conjunctivitis and are thinking of using that, I'd not use it - it's meant to be disposed of once the eyes have cleared up.
