bit of blood in 19 MO poo - is that normal?

Hoping you can tell me this is ok. Just changed nappy of 19 month old son. He had done a larger than normal poo - He usually does little stone like ones or very soft ones. This was enormous and quite hard. I was about to roll up the nappy when I saw that there was blood on it - only a bit. The consistency was 'jam' like - a bit like clots you might get when on your period. Is that normal? There was no other blood and he seems perfectly happy and fine.

Would be worth speaking to GP about it but my guess is a small tear in the anus when he passed the stool which shouldn't be a problem in itself.
