Toddler in a hip spica- any tips

Hello.
My 15month old broke her leg today, and is going to have a hip spica put on tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience of spicas? Any top tips? I have no idea how we're going to manage it.

No tips myself (been a long time since I had to have one) but if you head over to the steps charity forum there are loads of parents there with kids in spica's due to hip dysphasia. Lots of lovely friendly people with great advise. They also have a for sale page with bits and bobs people are selling on which you may find useful.
