15 month old - pooing several times a day - no infection

Hi,
I'm just after some advice please. My 15 month DS has always pooed at least twice a day but recently (the last month) he has been pooing up to seven times a day. It isn't diarrhea however he now has a very sore bottom. We have been given cream from the doctor and they took a sample which came back clear of infection.
We have just been using cotton wool and warm water as baby wipes seem to make it worse.
Should I take him back to the doctors even though there is no infection. Just wondering what is causing him to poo so much. We're spending a fortune in nappies!
Also he hasn't lost his appetite - he's a big boy - 91st centile
Thanks

I'd take him back and maybe ask for allergy testing? Sometimes kids can develop lactose intolerance after a bug.
