adult tooth thru but milk tooth still in

My 6yr old has a wobbly front tooth, has been for a few weeks now, but her new tooth has come thru fully behind it. Should I take her to the dentist?

I don't have any advice as my DD2 (7) has both top front teeth wobbly with the adult ones almost fully in behind. I keep encouraging her to wobble them and brush quite firmly but they have been like that for about 4 weeks now and they don't look like coming out - they are almost sticking right out of her mouth. We are due at the dentist in 6 weeks so I was going to leave it until then.

Just encourage her/him to wobble it. The adult tooth will move forward when it finally falls out. Thus happened with both my dds' bottom teeth. In the end I pulled one of them out as it was just hanging by a string, and the adult teeth were miles back and crooked. 6 months later you wouldn't know.

Yes this happened to both my dd bottom teeth recently. I just encouraged her to wiggle the milk teeth and the new ones have moved forward quite a lot now they've got space.

I actually discussed this issue with the dentist a few weeks ago. It's normal, the baby tooth will almost certainly fall out soon and the tooth should move forward in time. Sometimes they don't move into the correct position and braces may be needed, but they won't even consider that until at least 12 as they have a lot of growing to do before then.
