Does taking antihistamine tablets improve teenage acne?

My 14 year old son has had typical teenage acne for about 18 months. It's not terrible but a bit of a nuisance. This year, his hayfever has been quite bad and so he has been taking antihistamine tablets since April. I noticed within a week or so that his skin was looking significantly better and the improvement has continued to the point now that his skin is looking healthy and there is really no redness at all. Anybody had a similar experience?

No. It may be the recent sunshine has temporarily helped.

What else is your sone doing? I was told by a derm that cleanse, tone moisurise in conjunction with low level anti-bs was the best thing for teenage acne.

He washes with Clearasil twice a day. Haven't gone down the antibiotic route as it doesn't seem to bother him that much

If he has them on his chest/back/neck aswell then the he could be prescribed topical treatments, I used a treatment called zineryt, as a term it was the only thing that would keep the bumps away
