Would you send DC to nursery if they had unexplained rash?

Apologies for another spotty thread.
Ds, 3 vomited last night and then we noticed pin prick spots on his face, bottom, back of neck. Today they had disappeared but this evening they have reappeared and his face is now covered in red blotches. He also has the pin prick rash on back of neck, but nowhere else. He is well in himself, no temp but a little peaky.
He has had the MMR so I can rule out 3 possibles; he hasn't had chicken pox but he is not itchy and there are no blisters. Likewise, I have discounted prickly heat as he is not itchy.
I would send him in but 1) what is nursery policy on rashes without obvious illness 2) is it possibly viral and therefore contagious? I've trawled dr google and nothing infectious fits the bill 3) is it ethical?
Any opinions would be really helpful!

no, i wouldn't.

the MMR is not 100% effective so you can't necessarily rule any of them out! although I agree that it's unlikely to be measles or rubella.

chicken pox is bigger spots though, not pin prick.

it could be slapped cheek though, which is pretty contagious. plus, if he has been sick and now has a rash he's clearly not fully well so i wouldn't send him anyway

I don't know about the rash, sorry, but I wouldn't send into nursery until 48 hours after vomiting.

If he's been sick, it's 48 hours anyway from last sickness, so just that should keep him off nursery.

Thanks spotty. Not sure if the vomiting is related actually - he is a post reflux baby and still vomits occasionally.
I wouldn't send him if he wasn't well; but he is! Bit peaky, as I have said, but energetic , eating , happy ...

I've just literally pressed send on an email to preschool saying my DD won't be coming in tomorrow for pretty much exactly the reason you describe.... She is younger, though, so I might be being over cautious...

I would not send DC anywhere is not well, esp with rash/vomiting. If the rash is playing hide and seek the vomiting might do the same?

Unlikely that nursery would want him without being seen bu a GP and knowing that it is not infectious and that he is well enough

Ethicaly? -from what point if view - your DC is most likely going to want to be with you if he is ill - no, its not ethical to put other children and their families at risk knowingly.

See hoe he goes over night, if there is not vomiting, temp and the rash has gone completely by tomorrow I would call the nursery and see what they say.
if any of them are present I would go to GP's

Thanks all. Agreement seems to be stay at home, so we will do just that and hope it doesn't get worse.

We ended up at at GP for an unexplained rash earlier this week - to be fair, he'd had a horrific temperature the day before, and then covered head to foot in rash over about 30 mins from me noticing the first mark - and they wanted to see him.
Scarlet fever and meningitis were the two they wanted to rule out.

They were happy that if he was OK in himself, he was OK to go to nursery. I checked with nursery, and they were also OK with it.

But 48 hrs post vomit, so you've got chance to see what happens tomorrow anyway.

dd definitely she is the Queen of unexplained rashes. Nursery are really relaxed its people who have not experienced similar who are . Not if she'd been sick also though.

Just a rash - yes because if I didn't dd would never be at nursery.

Vomit and peaky - no. Dd is a post reflux baby too but still, I'd keep her home.
