Change in 16 month toddler since being sick

Since my daughter was sick at the weekend she has been really out of sorts. She was a very easy child, was Never irritable and slept well. Now she becomes very irritable especially at night.

Fri night: Daughter woke up 1am crying and threw up small bit of mucus
Sat morning: Lying down, zero energy, not eating or drinking, crying, very irritable and had one very big vomit. We also noticed one upper arm was swollen - no signs of bites, no sunburn (she had been in the park for a bit on Fri). Took her to doctor who advises that she may have a virus.
Sunday morning 2am. Woke up, very difficult to settle, crying & screaming uncontrollably, eventually settled after 30 mins.
Monday morning 2am. Same again, woke up crying for mommy, when picked up she screams uncontrollably throwing her body all over the place. Hand in mouth (teething). After 45 minutes she settled
Tonight: Already irritable before going to bed, refused milk. When put to bed screaming and tantrum. Whatever we did she got more angry, hitting my face when i picked her up. She just settled now after 45 minutes.

Whilst the doctor states the possibility of a virus she is showing no symptoms, no fever, no significant coughing, no significant nose running, no vomiting. She is sweating in her sleep though.

I have another young daughter, and the last few days have been stressful and difficult for me. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for her. Has anyone had any experience like this?

She has not shown any other teething symptoms, and only had her hand in her mouth the one time already noted.

Oh I'm sorry this is happening to your little one.
I'm trying to work out what you are asking & that's if a change of character has occurred or if we have experience of the illness/ symptoms.

I would say that if this only began on Friday then 3 days coming 3 days going applies and she is likely to be out of sorts until at least Thursday. I know its so very hard but if she is still little enough to be teething she can't compute what is happening to her and is poorly so a change in her personality is inevitable. All you can do is nurse her (meds, cuddles, cold compress etc) and be there for her.

With regards to the illness I think you are doing the right thing to seek extra medical help tomorrow.

I hope she feels better soon xxxxxx

Has she been checked for a urine infection? My daughter (18m) behaved very similar when she had one a couple of months ago. Very irritable, refusing food/drinks and throwing herself around screaming, which is not like her at all.

Hope she feels better soon!
