A month ago 9 year old ds had a bout of gastroenteritis, or something similar, he spent 8 hours vomiting, with stomach cramps and headache. He went back to normal after a couple of days. 2 weeks later he had sever stomach cramps, so severe he was in tears and doubled over in pain, no vomiting though. After 2 hours as bright as a button as if nothing had happened. After 2 weeks exactly the same thing. 2 hours of stomach cramps and then totally fine. What can it be? A&E told us to go to gp and get a referral.

There is a bug like this about at the moment. My whole family had the cramps/sick thing, then almost 2 weeks later had it all over again. We are fine now.

My DS seemed to have it again a third time minus the sickness

DS had something similar a couple of weeks ago. There's no really delicate way to put this but what happened to relieve the pain in your boy? Because it seemed to be a really bad case of trapped wind with mine and it was around about 5 solid minutes of farting that relieved everything..
He does have bouts of constipation occasionally which appear to lead up to it.
He learnt to relieve it himself by massaging just below his belly button going in an anti clockwise direction in large circles.

No trapped wind afterwards, no relieving himself afterwards. That's what worries me really. He seems to go regularly and no constipation from what I can see...

It's just a bug. We have had it. Then had it again two weeks later.
