DD complaining of black spot in one eye

DD8 said this afternoon that she has a black spot at the side of her vision in one eye and it's really annoying her. I've just come up to bed and she's left a note on my bed (complete with diagram of said spot!) saying it's still there and what can she do about it....took her to the opticians for the first time yesterday, for no particular reason, just because I thought they should and their cousins wear glasses.

Any ideas??

Did they check her field of vision? Does it come and go? I ask because I recently had a problem with a black spot. I see an ophthalmologist (for another eye problem) who did loads of tests and they were all fine. He said that migraines can cause black spots that come and go. A black spot that stays there can be more worrying. Might be worth a 2nd opinion from another optician, especially one who specialises in children.
