My son has some health issues that I don't think are being fully answered by our local GP who pleasant as she is seems constrained by budget and/or belief that's there really anything wrong with him - she keeps saying wait for 6 weeks to reassess - my instincts tell me to investigate further but having seen 3 different gps within the same practice I fear I will be labeled paranoid parent / over anxious mother is I keep asking - I'm thinking of getting a private referral to a specialist to check further - cost wise we can afford it but not sure if its the right thing to do or not - is this what private healthcare is all about ?

depends what it is but pre-existing conditions are not normally covered nor non-medical issues such as Sp LD assessments.
