Almost 13 YO DD has always been a bit highly strung. We have finally stopped moving and are living in a market town. She is settled at school, or so we though.
She has recently come home and asked whether she can go for counselling for her anxiety. We were floored by this, I had no idea how 'awful her life is at school'. Me and DH were under the impression she loved it. Apparently, she cries at lunchtimes because her BF has abandoned her. She has always had drama queen tendancies.
The school do offer counselling, but need a referral from her GP. We don't know whether to do this or not.
Experiences please?
