My DS was propped up next to me whilst I got ready to feed him and he (as usual) was chewing on his fists in anticipation of food, when he suddenly shoved what looked like a whole finger into his eye and went under his eye lid. He instantly began screaming and had his eye scrunched up and closed and it was watering quite a bit.
I waited for him to calm down a little and he seems fine in himself now, has had his feed and has opened his eye and it looks ok, (not particularly bloodshot or anything) but the skin around his eyelid and the top half of his face is still quite red. I've put a clean cold cloth to it but I'm wondering if I need to do more/take him to have it looked at or if I'm just being a bit of an over panicky first time mum.
