Dd3 has just pooed a snot-like substance. Should I be worried?

She seems fine otherwise, although she has been quite whiny for the last few days. My husband is freaking out thinking she's got dysentery - he had it years ago when we went backpacking and says her poo looks just the same.

It can't be that, can it? I'm obviously going to call Nhs direct now but I was wondering if anybody could help.

It's mucus. Probably due to a cold.

My dc's used to get this when they were ill. Totally normal.

Thanks - I have done the NHS Direct online assessment and it tells me to go and see the GP today. She is likely lo have a bacterial infection, apparently. honestly she seems fine and as I've got two other young kids, it would be really inconvenient to go to our out of hours surgery. Do you think it can wait?
