Hi there-anyone up?Took dd 7 months to the doc on Friday as she had a chesty cough.Doc listened and said chest was clear and ears and nose fine.No temp and she is feeding as normal. She gave us an antibiotic incase we should need it over the weekend. We decided to start her on it.Chesty cough sounds much better and first tooth appeared also.Tonight however her chest sounds crackly and I can feel it if I put my hand on her.Have rung out of hours doc as am worried. Here on my own with older dd

Phone out of hours doc, explain symptoms, be specific. "Crackly" is very specific, are you a medic?
Explain that cough not resolved since antibiotic commenced.
Is baby turning white or blue whilst coughing?
Does baby have temp? What is it?
Have you plan b in place re child care for older children? If not, get one.
Be prepared to be told to bring baby to ED.

No coughing and no temp. She is great form and is sleeping peacefully here beside me.Just don't like the crackling sound I hear.Just spoke to the doctor and he said its probably a virus and to bring her in the morning. Not sure if I am being overly anxious

My kids sometimes get this after starting antibiotics for a chest infection - I've always thought it was because the gunky infected stuff was moving out of their lungs but I'm not a medic.
