Hurt finger - any point going to A&E or OOH or GP?

DD (age 6) has dropped a stilt on her little finger Hmm. I've iced it but it's very bruised, swollen, and she says it's painful to move or touch.

Does she need to go to A&E to check whether it's broken? I don't think there's much to do for broken fingers even if it is, and I'm happy to strap it up at home if we don't need to go.

WWYD?

I would take her to be honest if still swollen and sore this morning. Most injuries can be treated with strapping but just occasionally something different is indicated and you can not know this without being checked.

have you got a minor injuries place anywhere near? DH chopped the top off his finger the other week. We were in and out in 45 minutes.

Thanks, have taken her to a&e (which at our closest hospital does minor injuries as well, the reception does both & triage decide where to send you). Now waiting...

Hope she's ok. Is it busy?

Probably is worth getting in checked. DS broke finger 3 weeks ago. All healed fine. We were put under a plastic surgery team. The hospital also made him a tiny splint which definitely helped with the healing.
