If he is well in himself, it sounds like he just has a big head. Our son's weight was on the .4th centile, his height was 50th centile and hc was 95th centile ( he had bad reflux). A scan should offer reassurance.

The positive side to being referred is that probably you will be reassured. I know I googled scared myself to death a bit with dd2 because her head looked massive.

I remember your original post. As I said then dd1's head went from 9th to 50th in that time (apparently) But in terms of proportions, DD2 at one point was 50th for length, 25th for weight and 91st for head. She's now 2 and her head is still big (at least she grows out of hats early, it doesn't look big any more).

Good luck for Thursday, sorry you are having to go through this awful worry.

Hi. I don't think there will be anything to worry about. I have 3 boys and all their heads have been on the 90th centile, even though they were on the 50 to 75 for weights and heights. We just have large heads in our family. Good luck with scan, hopefully you will be reassured.

I have no experience of referral, DS2 had a very 91st centile head, 25th centile weight but it was never mentioned. Could they have measured wrong at birth though, they can be quite inconsistent.
