Does impetigo cause a fever? Or a virus cause a spotty face?

Dd is 16m and someone at her nursery had impetigo. She has been unwell the last few days, awful nappy sat then fever all day mon then fine till 4ish yesterday then fever again. Then seemingly fine after calpol but awake all night despite calpol/nurofen, crying, possibly tummy ache then seems fine today, eating and not even unusually tired bizarrely (I am!)

Anyway she has four or five spots on her face but they are just red, not blisters, could be coincidence but could be the start of impetigo? Don't think chicken pox starts on the face?

After reading another thread I think it could well be hand foot and mouth so will try and look in her mouth when she wakes up. Pretty sure tummy ache kept her awake last night as she was really windy when I got her up. I guess no nursery tomorrow if she has it!
