DD (6) went for her check up last week and was struggling to read letters on the 5th row even though 3 months ago, she was reading some letters on the 8th row down comfortably. The optician noticed the discrepancy so double checked the glasses and prescription and it turns out that the person who wrote her prescription had copied it down wrong by quite a way on paper. The axis was meant to be 10 units and he had written 110.
I've been told that they would write another one out again and post it ASAP. This was Wednesday last week. I'm fairly confident that it will arrive eventually but I can't help being annoyed for my DD as it has clearly harmed the vision in her right eye and for her to have spent 3 months struggling with them.
Has anyone else had this happen to their child before? Did it all turn out okay in the end?
