Hi, my son is 2 and half and is healthy atm with no symptoms of being ill or coming down with anything but when I check him before I go to bed he is always sweaty but cold to touch so ive been checking his temp at nights and through day for past 3 days to compare and at nights its varying between 34.5/35.2 and during day is normal (36.5/37.3)
At night my heating is on all night as weather been getting colder now (jst low though) and he sleeps in vest and pj's and has a duvet over him so I cant understand why his temp is dropping so low?? Is there any medical reason why this is happening? Or should I just be putting more clothes on him? But will that make him sweat more? I am so confused! Any advice greatly appreciated Confused

Jst a little update, my son has no developed a cough but still seems ok in himself, it is still jst the low body temp thats confusing me Confused if he was coming down with a virus I would be expecting his temp to be high.

just a thought, could it be that he's actually too hot at noght, which makes him sweat, which then makes him cold..?

Thanks for reply, well I took him to doc this mornin jst to put my mind at rest and that is 1 of the things she said also he cud b havin night terrors, as he occasionally wakes up cryin through the night.
She basically said if he is fit and well otherwise not to worry bout it and she is not concerned with him havin a cough atm as he is in good spirits but said if he seemed unwell and had other symptoms with the low temp then
to get medical advice.

This has made me feel a lot happier! Will try tonight without lighter duvet c if that helps! X
