Tummy ache then tons mucousy foul diarrhoea 2 yr old

and to top it off it had threadworms in.
He seems quite bubbly and happy but honestly the smell was the worst I've ever smelt (i'm usually quite tough and resilient) and it was full of wobbly mucous.
We've treated the threadworm (the whole family as a precaution and washed everything) but am worried by the diarrhoea.

Could it be a stomach bug? He's had it 5 or 6 times just this evening in large quantities. My stomach feels slightly funny too and DH and DD are fine. Nothing suspicious I can think of we've eaten.

I wouldn't be overly worried if its short lived just keep his fluids up

Dd had mucous diarrhoea when she was 18 months and it was the worst I had ever smelled! Gp said to hydrate and ride it out.

It turned out that it was a bug that her and a little girl I looked after at the time kept re infecting each other with as we weren't keeping them apart long enough.
