Should I take DD to her flu 'sniff' if she's getting a cold?

Confused . The gp surgery tell me it's fine so long as she doesn't have a temperature but when I went for my flu injection at the chemist I was turned down first time as I said I thought I was coming down with a cold.

I've had a cold and it looks like DD is coming down with it (runny nose, but moany etc). She has her apt for flu sniff tomorrow and I'm Confused as to whether to take her or not. We've already cancelled as she was ill a couple of weeks ago with another bug . Any advice? Should I take her or leave it till next week? Not sure whether to go along with their 'so long as she doesn't have a fever' given my experience of being refused in a similar situ to DD.

Possibly something to do with the Chemist giving it as opposed to GP ??

Mum and dad had theirs the other day at GP (I was with them) and no questions were asked ?

Let the GP /nurse decide ?

Thanks bizzey maybe that's what it is. Tbh I can't see how it would work with a sniff as her nose is completely blocked so the sniff won't make it up! WIll ring them when they open.

bumping- how did you get on? my two year old has his tomorrow and has been under the weather all week, anyone got any advice? I had the flu jab when I was coming down with a cold last year and then got full blown flu, the doctor said it couldn't be linked but it was an coincidence- I've never had flu like it. Having said that, I want him to have it as there are so many bugs around and the next appt won't be for a few weeks... sorry no help to you just adding to indecision!

Well, I rung up and they said if it was straight forward for me to rebook to do it when she's better (have booked for next week). They said as she had a blocked nose it's not ideal. I think they would have done it though if I had particularly wanted her to do it today. Fingers crossed she's healthy next week as this was a postponed appointment from 2 weeks ago when she was ill with something else!
