What to do? She has had a urinary infection once before but wondered if we could avoid the whole doctor/antibiotic route. She's a bit tired and tearful too although no temperature.

Was just about to post same about 12 year old ds. Typical, back to school tomorrow and a school trip that cost a bloody fortuneHmm

I'm encouraging ds to drink loads and have given him paracetamol and he'll have an early night. No temperature, he's tucking into his dinner at the moment.

Just googled that bicarb of soda can help-will try some in some apple juice.

sunbathe · 04/11/2013 18:20

Do you have any lemon barley water? Always helps me.

valiumredhead · 04/11/2013 18:42

Is bicarb the same as baking powder?Confused

valiumredhead · 04/11/2013 18:43

I remember lemon barley but not got any.

sunbathe · 04/11/2013 21:33

My GP also recommended ginger ale.

Isn't baking powder a mix of bicarb and something else?

Gaterhater · 05/11/2013 14:39

Thanks sunbathe.
Valium - She's fine in herself, a bit pale but we are having a very low key day - she's still in pain when she's weeing but no more visible blood thank goodness. How is your DS doing?

We have anti biotics and he's very pale and tired, the nurse said that it was good we'd come in as it can get nasty very quickly in boys.

I think he'll have a quite day at home tomorrow.

Glad your dad is on the mend :-)
