What can I give my 10mo for a cold and cough?

My ds has had a cold for several weeks which is a constant stream during the day. But this gets a lot worse during the night and is thick green snot when he wakes in the morning. It is causing him to wake up several times in the night I think because he sleeps on his front and so finds he cannot breath.

His cough also gets worse at night and sounds chesty and his breathing is wheezy.

I took him to the doctors a few weeks ago when his cough started and his cold was milder and she gave me nothing for it. Saying babies get colds and there's nothing to worry about. I have left it expecting it to get better but it hasn't and now as I said it is causing him to wake in the night.

Went to boots and they wouldn't give me anything for the cough as he is under a year and I bought a nasal spray for his cold which has been useless.

What can I give him that will actually work fast? I know he will get cold after cold but this has gone on for several weeks and is now affecting his and my sleep.

there isnt much for that age group as any that worked have now been changed to only being suitable for age 6+. A cough syrup with glycerol in can help soothe their throat and you can use paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief. Olbas oil/karvol can be put on a tissue in his room to help clear his nose and you can also get plug in diffusers (we used to have a good karvol one that they discontinued)

If it continues I would take him back to the doctor

Hya!
I took my 4 year old daughter to the Salt Cave. They doing natural salt therapies. I also bought a salt pipe for her! It seem really beneficial for her, and the best thing is that its a natural thing!
I think this is something which is worth for a try!
Good luck!
