Croup and bronchiolytis together, any experience? Plus need tips about BFing a baby on oxygen

DS is 5 months and was admitted last night with croup and bronchiolytis at the same time. My DH is away and I'm sat alone in a hospital room panicking and wonders if others have had both breathing issues together?

Also DS' SATs drop when he BFs so he can't. This is really upsetting him and may lead to a feeding tube. Are there any positions that might make it easier for him to breath?

Can you hold the oxygen tube close to his nose while feeding I remember having to do this with one if mine when feeding on oxygen, hope he gets over it quickly.

Thanks, I tried that but it didn't really work. I've now expressed as a bottle seems to be easier for him at the moment.

My DD was admitted with bronchiolitis and chicken pox at 10 weeks. She was deemed too exhausted by bf so had a NG tube and I expressed for her. It wasn't half as bad as it sounds and allowed her to rest. Hope your DS feels better soon.
I'd they are monitoring his SATS then they should be doing something about it if they drop and it is significant

I had to stop feeding and feed my DS through a NG tube I'm afraid. So sorry you're going through this - it's really scary. Hope your DS gets better quickly.

Is your DH coming home or is anyone else around who can support you?

They are monitoring his SATS and increasing the oxygen levels as they drop. He has also had two doses of steroids. Sadly my DH is not back 'til Friday and all our local friends are away for half term. The timing if this really could not be worse. I don't even have someone to bring me a change of clothes!
