5yr old dd complained all of Wednesday of a headache and tummy ache which was followed by 3 to 4 bouts of vomiting (she effectively emptied her stomach) and 1 bout of watery diarrhea in the middle of the night.
She was fine all of Thurday although she didn't eat much, but then woke up at about 3am and started vomiting, again repeatedly until there was nothing left to bring up. No more diarrhea since that first one.
I had put this done to a virus as she has a bit of a cold and we have all been poorly for a couple of months now, but I don't understand why the vomiting only happens at night.
Last year, she had unexplained vomiting from about Nov through to Feb/Mar. It only happened at night, usually lasted a couple of days and would happen anything from 2-4 times a month. We were referred to a consultant after having stool and blood tests show up clear. An X-Ray showed she was very constipated and she was put on Movicol, but the vomiting had stopped by itself by the time we saw the consultant so I am not convinced we really got to the bottom of it.
I'm worried it's come back and would like to know if the winter bug could result in only nighttime vomiting, in which case it will hopefully soon be over? Anyone had a similar experience who can offer advice? It will be much appreciated.
