Can anyone tell me about the pre-school vision screening?

Title says it all really. Its normally done in nursery but they ran out of time so DD got an appt thru for the main eye hosp - 30 miles away in the city centre. I have 2 other DC's 2.5 & 9 mths and would have to bring them with me. Would do it if necessary but DD is getting regular checks with an optician because of family history. So will it tell me anything her optician won't??

just write to them saying that as she is already being checked regularly by an optician you have no need of this screening.

the screening is aimed at chidlren who are NOT ahving teir eyes checked regularly

Thanks cestlavielife, just phond them and when I said she was seeing her own optician they said fine! Strange cause the letter says to bring them even if they are seeing an optician which is what had me confussed.
