What can I give her? Poor little thing appears in a bit of pain and is really trying to poo, but nothing.

Which formula is she on? My twins were on SMA and it made then dreadfully constipated at that age. We switched to amtamil and had no further problems.

You could try tummy massage to help.

*aptamil

Ask your midwife about tummy massage. They should be able to show you.

Hope it improves soon. It's horrible to see them in discomfort.

Try a comfort formula. Also bicycling legs can get things moving. If still no poo tomorrow take her to doctor to get checked.

Our midwife told us that the ready made aptamil formula in the little cartons could relieve constipation also bicycling legs. We always found poo charming worked too also on the advice of the midwife! Basically you stimulate their anus with a warm, moist piece of cotton wool. Beware though, it works very quickly!

Gp told me to add an extra ounce of water to every bottle. Seemed to work.

Midwife suggested 5ml of orange or apple juice for DD. It definitely worked.

Please call your midwife as your LO isn't yet 10 days old. We did the above with DD but she wasn't really constipated. Her latch was so poor & shallow that she wasn't getting enough to eat.
