Likelihood of measles if had MMR?

Basically that's my question. Is it possible? DS (2.5) has had a bad few days with a temp and very irritable. Today he slept 3 hours and woke with a rash which seems to be spreading. It's not chickenpox, that much we know but we're wondering about German measles or measles? Any ideas? Hmm

Has he had both the MMR jabs? It is possible to have measles even when vaccinated as it is not 100% effective - BUT it is much more likely to be something else.

Thanks for responding. He has had both jabs, thankfully the rash has calmed down a lot so we're less worried now.

V v similar to measles rash

After only one vaccination the protection rate is 95%, so on average when you expose 100 children who have been vaccinated once, five are likely to get measles.
After two vaccinations the protection rate increases to 99%, so out of 100 children who have all received two vaccinations and who have all been exposed to measles, one child is still likely to get it.
So the probability is very low.

you dont normally get the 2nd mmr until over the age of 3y 4m - are you sure he has had both?
