Could this be the start of chicken pox?

Earlier this afternoon DD complained of being itchy in her arm pit and said she thought she had been bitten. I had a look and found 2 pink spots that I thought were insect bites. She has just asked me to put some cream on them as they are very itchy and now has 22 spots over her torso. No fluid filled spots yet but a few are scabby from scratching. Could this be the early stages of chicken pox? Im praying it isn't as we are going on holiday on Friday.

Hard to say without seeing the spots. Check in the morning, if it is cp she will have a lot more.
I don't remember dds being itchy until they were fluid filled.

I think it sounds likely tbh. Ds's first ones weren't blistered until day 2/3.

Thanks for the replies. No more have appeared overnight and no blisters seem to be appearing so probably not CP thank goodness. We had just got back from a camping trip and DD was wearing a tshirt that had been with us but not worn, so think something must have been lurking in it. Went into panic mode as meant to be flying out to stay with my parents on Friday.

Oh I am glad it's not CP. enjoy your trip

I wouldn't say it definitely isn't pox sorry. It can take a few days to become obvious.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

With both my kids I noticed one spot then four hours later they had about fifty and a few hours later a couple of hundred and some had already blistered.

Spoke too soon! Now up to 33 but not seen any fluid filled ones. New ones look like spots about to get a head developing and when I check again are scabby from being scratched or with a tiny yellowish crust so think it probably is CP but DD scratches the blisters before I see them! Think it's a mild case so fingers crossed all scabbed over for Friday though realise it prob won't happen.
