Does this sound like fifth disease/slapped cheek etc?

Ds1 and ds3 (10yo and baby) have both got a strange, flattish rash which seems to be hanging around, they started with it last week and I can't think where it has come from.

I use the same sun cream on them and ds2 who doesn't have it, and it's in areas I haven't really used the sun stuff - I rarely use it anyway.

They all have the same washing powder too

Neither has been ill or had a fever

It's sort of like sunburn, very red, then in areas it is more 'lacy' and mottled. It seems to be travelling roughly downwards on ds1, so his face is less red now but it's reached his thighs and his forearms and hands.

Ds3 seems still to have a very red face but it's less prominent lower down on him, but his arms and legs are affected.

Have been googling and just wanted to check it can't be anything more serious? I don't know if ds2 had this already, or something...but he is fine and they are both very spotty!

Any ideas welcome. I don't want to be chased out of the swimming pool if we go, I've been making ds1 wear a t shirt, as fifth isn't contagious once they have the rash so I'm hoping pregnant people are safe around him.

My kids both had bright scarlet cheeks when they got it, preceded by general low level flu-ish symptoms for the preceding 10 day days. I don't recall any rash on their bodies...

DS2 had exactly was you describe just before the school holidays. He wasn't ill with it either. The rash started on his cheeks then slowly downwards all over his body - his leg rash stayed for about 2 weeks and kept coming back on hot days. I googled slapped cheek and decided it was that too! Or just a virus Grin
