DD has a red rash on her palms and on the soles of her feet. What could it be?

I've looked up hand, foot and mouth, but that shows blisters mostly and hers is just a dark red rash that looks like it is deep under the skin. She has no blisters in her mouth or around it.

It does blanch when pressed with a glass, so I'm not panicking, but we are due to go away tomorrow to our caravan and wonder whether I need to check it out in the morning.

No idea! How old is she? Any other symptoms?

DS has the exact rash that you describe but it is on his back and chest. He has not been himself for a few days and very sleepy, so I went to the drop in centre today because rashes make me panic, turns out it was just a virus.

Hand, foot and mouth it sounds like, my son has it atm no idea where it came from mind!

My sons are not like the google pictures but doctor did confirm it.

I get an allergic reaction that show as an angry red itchy rash under the skin on my hands at first. It usually comes out if I've been swimming more than usual or cleaning not likely has she eaten or touched anything unusual

It is quite mild. Can make them grissly, but not as bad as chicken pox.

My two DC have had it with no long term effects.

She's had a bit of a rash on her trunk and back for a day or two last week, but I didn't get that checked out as it was clearly viral (had it before). That was a smaller, pinpoint rash that was on the surface of her skin, but this is wider rash marks, which look like they are deep under the skin. Mysterious!

She's 8, nearly 9. Isn't complaining of anything else in general, but has been rubbing her eyes a lot more today and saying she thinks they are sore.

Luckily, my GP is v good at giving out early appts if you phone their triage service at 8a.m. So guess what I'll be doing tomorrow morning.

Sounds a lot like Scarlett fever to me.

DH is questioning allergic reaction, but she's done nothing unusual today. Been swimming, but always does on a Thurs.

I wondered about Hand, foot and mouth and did google it, but it doesn't look like blisters, just a flat rash.

The only thing is the rash I get is VERY itchy to the point I could take a hairbrush to it.

My sons rash is flat all apart from one small teeny dot on his palm just under his little finger, he did say there was no treatment for it too.

Coincidently my brother (21) came out in the same rash on the same day as my DS and was also diagnosed with Hand, foot and mouth, I've seen my DB but my DS hasn't seen him for over a week so how DB blames my DS for him getting it I do not know!

She has no itchiness.

No sore throat.

No other rash anywhere else.

No pain and no fever.

Scarlett Fever looks SCARY - I had that as a child and it left me hallucinating.

Mrs B, where is their rash? Is it in the 3 classic places? Only asking as DD has nothing around her face or in her mouth at all. Just on her palms and fingers and on the sides of her feet.

Years ago one of my mindees had a rash as you describe (as well as the back of her neck). It was Scarlett Fever - she was ok though - no other symptoms other than that. Certainly no hallucinations. Hope that your DD gets to see your GP today and a diagnosis helps put your mind to rest.

It sounds like scarlettina....a lesser form of scarlet fever. DS2 had it and was fine after a couple of days.

hand foot and mouth .Often doesn't appear on the mouth
