Ice for swellings and wriggly babies

Hoping some more experienced Mums can help...

My DS banged his head today and wouldn't let me near him with well wrapped ice for the swelling. I'm not surprised as he hates anything cold - including ice creams! He has a clotting problem so I'm going to spend the next few years wrestling with ice and swellings. DS is fine but has a really unsightly bump Sad

Can anyone suggest any tricks?

You could try a cold wet flannel - use one which he likes to have in the bath so it is a familiar object.

That's great, thank you. Might stick some in the fridge now and get him playing with them tomorrow. It won't do any harm in this heat!

And keep some bags with small peas especially for this purpose in freezer. You could put the peas in smaller bags, don't overfill, so you can make them small and flat to put in face cloth. Once used, refreeze and label so they don' t get eaten by mistake. They mold well to the bump so they are ideal.
