My 5 year old had taken movicol for an impaction 6 months ago, and has been on a maintenance dose of one sachet a day since.

I have noticed she sometimes has really pale stools. I mentioned this to the GP who said it's fine, "not explainable, but just one of those things". The GP said it's a symptom of jaundice or liver disease, but said dd doesn't have either of those.

I am still not happy with this though. I have Googled and cant find any mention of this sometimes being ok. I probably need to go back to GP, but thought I would ask on here if anyone else has had this and been perfectly healthy.

It's fairly normal after a stomach upset.

DD occasionally has this if she has been ill. If they were always that colour Id be concerned but I think occasionally is OK.

And stay away from Google!

Thank you. I hadn't noticed this in my other dc ever, hence being sceptical of GP, so that is helpful.

And yes Googling is always a bad move!

Is it sometimes called toddler diarrhoea? My ds has had it once, and then again less severe after having a lot of dairy.
We found it cleared up on its own, but gave plain-ish foods in the mean time.

My DS gets this if he has been ill. The doctor checked for signs of jaundice then said it was probably just one of those things. It goes back to normal after a few days.
