Daughter in Year 1, we've just spotted and treated our first case of nits, is it customary to inform her teacher ?

Yes, I did. The teacher thanked me and and a letter went out to the whole class that afternoon asking parents to check their dc and great as necessary.

Oh good, I will discreetly tell her tomorrow then. Was a bit of a shock having never seen one before. Now I know what to look for, I think I would appreciate a warning letter in the future. Thanks for the reply .

Yes good to do so. All kids will get them so best to be prepped. I had them when I had no kids - think I got them on the plane. Would appreciate to know if is going round so can do extra checks.
