I have only just noticed this, dd1 has lost quite a lot of hair on the crown of her head (a bit bigger than a 50p piece). She said it feels sore, and the skin looks dry and scaly.

She is allergic to wheat and gets mild eczema

Any ideas?

See gp to rule out ringworm or another fungal infection?

If wheat allergic- is she still eating other grains? Gluten/grain free may not be enough, she may need to eliminate all grains (at least for a few months to see what happens). She may be reacting to similar proteins in other grains, or to wheat contamination in other grains or grain products (example, Kellogg's rice crispies have barley extract in them, and many other "rice crispies" have wheat flour in them!).
